HORSE RIDING IN SONGPAN |
Songpan is a small town with a newly build old-style center. It is a picturesque town, mainly focused on horse treks. The staff of the horse trek company are very experienced and will help you with your horses at all times. The horses are very tame and easy to ride. Beware though that the area around Songpan is mountainous and you will sometimes have to go steeply up or steeply down the slopes.
one-day horse trek On this day you will go on horse back through the beautiful mountains surrounding Songpan. You will visit a monastery, and return riding through the mountains and green rolling hills. |

| Day 1: You will directly go up into the mountains around Songpan. After about 3 hours on horse back, you'll arrive at the lunch area. The trekking guides will prepare lunch and after lunch, you can take a walk in the valley. Dinner will also be in this same camping area, around a camp fire. The trekking guides will sing the night away and you are, of course, more than welcome to join in. You will spent the night in a 4 persons tent where beds are made of branches and leaves. The horse trek company will provide blankets. Day 2: On day 2 you will leave after breakfast at around 10, since the horses have to be saddled again and the camping area has to be cleared. You'll ride about 2 hours and have lunch on top of a mountain. After lunch it is another 1 1/2 hours to get back to Songpan. Please beware that this trek has some steep slopes and sometime you will have to get off your horse and walk. This will be indicated by the trekking guides. |
