Tour 1

On this one-day tour, we go to the absolutely stunning Sangke grasslands. In the summer, the meadows are completely covered with colorful flowers. We will visit a nomad family in their tent where we can taste tsampa and Tibetan yak milk tea. (Since the nomads move around, we will visit a different family on every tour.) We can see the yaks and herds of sheep and we'll go hiking in the mountains. We will also visit a very small pure nomad town where we can eat momo’s, the typical Tibetan meat dumplings, or tentug which is Tibetan noodle soup. 
Time: leave at 09.00, back at around 16.00.

Nomad women

 Tour 2 

Stay overnight in a tent resort on the Sangke grasslands. In the evening the locals will make a bon fire and there will be dancing and singing around the fire. It is a great opportunity to meet and talk to the local people! You can also go horse riding on the grasslands.
Time: leave at 16.00, back the next day afternoon.  
Included: transportation, English speaking guide who will drop you off, get you settled and and pick you up the next day, entrance fee to the grasslands.
Price: for 1 person 500 RMB / for 2-3 persons 380 RMB p.p. / for 4 persons or more 300 RMB p.p.

Tibetan tent

Tour 3 

Horse riding on the Sangke grasslands. The horses are very tame and easy to ride on, even when you are not an experienced horse rider.  On this horse trek you can visit a Tibetan winter house. This is a house where the family stays during winter time when it is too cold to stay in a tent. There you can drink some Tibetan tea, also known as nomad tea. Lunch can be eaten in a nearby resort or Tibetan village. The price for this lunch is 5 Euro per person, drinks not included.
Time: up to you.
Included: transportation to the horse riding area on Sangke, guide and horses, entrance fee to the grasslands.

Yak

Tour 4 

On this tour, we visit the Ganjia grasslands, located outside Xiahe. On these  grasslands, there are few nomad families, but still lots of things to see. We will visit an ancient city and a very secluded monastery with a small village. Ganjia also has stunning scenery: rugged mountains with snow and beautiful green grasslands. You have to bring your own lunch on this tour, so we can have a pick nick lunch on the grasslands.   
Time: leave at 09.00, back at around 18.00.

 Tour 5   
On this tour we visit the spectacular nine floor Milarepa temple in Hezuo. Hezuo is the district capital and located  33 kilometers outside Xiahe. It will take about 2 hours to get there. This temple is very famous because of its beautiful decorations and statues inside. 
Time: leave at 09.00, back at around 15.00.

Tour 6 

This is a two hour tour of the Labrang monastery. The Labrang monastery is the biggest monastery outside Tibet TAR and has about 2000 monks. There are 6 Buddhist schools with their own temples and we can visit some temples, see the book printing area and attend the chanting and debating sessions. The monastery itself also provides a guided tour for which you must buy an entry ticket of 40 Yuan. For our tour, the entry ticket is not required and you visit other areas of this huge monastery. Both tours complement each other.   
Time: up to you, 2-hour-tour.
